Underground Adventure: Crayfish

This is one of six animatronic creatures JEX Special Projects built for the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. The Crayfish was the largest creature in this exhibit. It is powered by Pneumatic Servo cylinders which allow complete control of the creature. The Crayfish can travel 4 feet up/down. The body tilts toward the viewer. And the claw snaps. All of the minor legs move as a result of the Crayfish movement. This gives the illusion that the entire creature can move.
